Meerut Murder Case: The Deceptive Manipulation by Muskan Rastogi

Muskan Rastogi allegedly manipulated her boyfriend Sahil Shukla into believing his deceased mother was communicating with him through her. Using multiple Snapchat accounts, she sent messages encouraging Sahil to assist in the murder of her husband, Saurabh Rajput. Both were arrested shortly after Rajput’s body was discovered, leading to unsettling revelations of the crime they committed together.

Muskan Rastogi, charged with the murder of her husband Saurabh Rajput, reportedly deceived her lover Sahil Shukla by impersonating his deceased mother. She utilized multiple Snapchat accounts to send messages that convinced Sahil that his mother was communicating with him through her. One message relayed to Sahil stated, “Shakti (power) will protect you.”

In another chat, Muskan referred to herself as a “bahu” (daughter-in-law) and assured him that she was now part of the family. She ominously stated that Rajput was destined to die at her hands. These texts played a significant role in persuading Sahil to partake in their criminal scheme.

Muskan and Sahil were apprehended shortly after Rajput’s body was discovered on March 18, 2023. The couple allegedly mixed sedatives in his food and murdered him on March 4, after his return from a work stint in the UK. Following the crime, Muskan reportedly dismembered Rajput’s body into 15 pieces while her young daughter slept nearby.

Reports indicate that Muskan developed a relationship with Sahil while Rajput was employed overseas. After the murder, she left her daughter with her parents and traveled to Shimla with Sahil, where they were soon captured by authorities after the crime was reported.

The murder case of Saurabh Rajput, involving his wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla, highlights a tragic narrative of deception and manipulation. Muskan’s cunning strategy of impersonating Sahil’s deceased mother through social media played a pivotal role in executing the murder plot. Their arrest following the heinous act underscores the gravity of their actions and the consequences they now face.
