In Karnataka’s Koppal district, a disturbing incident unfolded during a music concert around 1 AM, where five attendees were reportedly attacked. Among them were two women, one from Israel and the other from Gangavati. Three men—Daniel, a 23-year-old from the United States; Pankaj, a 43-year-old from Maharashtra; and D Boss, a local resident—were assaulted and thrown into an irrigation canal. While Daniel and Pankaj managed to escape, D Boss remains unaccounted for, raising concerns over his safety.
The attack occurred near Saanapur Kere, close to the Gangamma temple. Superintendent of Police Ram Arasidi indicated that the strong current of the canal raises fears that D Boss may have been swept away. Rescue operations are ongoing, with authorities blocking parts of the canal to assist with the search efforts.
The individuals involved were guests at the Heart Line Happy Home Resort in Gangavati, accompanied by a female guide and a male staff member when the incident transpired. It has been reported that the women were targeted after their male companions were forcibly removed from the vicinity.
All four survivors received urgent medical care at a local health center before being transferred to a government hospital for further treatment. Police Inspector Somashekar Juttal remarked on the rarity of such violent events, emphasizing that they jeopardize tourism and tarnish India’s international reputation. Additional security measures will be implemented at popular tourist sites to prevent future occurrences. Although no formal complaints have been lodged by the victims, an investigation is underway, aiming to address this alarming assault effectively.
The attack in Koppal district during a music concert signifies a troubling incident involving the assault of two foreign women and men. Efforts are ongoing to locate the missing individual, and the local authorities are committed to enhancing security for tourists.
