A woman and two minors were arrested in Delhi for stealing bridal outfits worth Rs 2 crore from a boutique. The accomplices overpowered the security guard during a staged bathroom request and stole valuable items. Police investigation identified the tempo used in the crime, leading to the recovery of the stolen goods and arrests.
A woman, along with two minor accomplices, was apprehended for allegedly stealing bridal outfits valued at Rs 2 crore from a boutique in Delhi, according to police reports. The minors, one of whom previously worked as a sales assistant at the boutique, are currently in police custody. The alleged theft occurred late on March 1 in Fatehpur Beri, located in South Delhi.
According to Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police Achin Garg, the group approached the boutique’s security guard pretending to be relatives of the owner. They requested access to the washroom, during which the woman distracted the guard while her accomplices overpowered and tied him up. They subsequently absconded with 50 high-end bridal outfits, electronic devices, and exclusive artwork, all of which were later recovered from a rented room in Aya Nagar.
The thieves had stolen the boutique’s CCTV DVR to eliminate evidence. However, police were able to trace the tempo van used in the crime. After managing to free himself, the security guard notified law enforcement, leading to an investigation. The guard noted that the robbers had obscured the tempo’s number plate; yet, CCTV footage showed the tape partially removed, revealing crucial letters that became a significant clue.
With the tempo’s last known location identified in Manglapuri, police searched the area and found the vehicle parked on a street. Further inquiries led to the identification of the tempo’s owner, who disclosed that a juvenile had borrowed it. Upon interrogation, the youth admitted to participating in the crime and implicated the other two individuals.
Police indicated that both minors were residents of Sultanpur and had orchestrated the robbery, with one possessing knowledge of the boutique’s layout and the outfits’ value. The woman, who was connected to him through social media, was subsequently arrested in Ghaziabad.
This incident highlights a calculated theft involving a woman and two minors, demonstrating their ability to execute the crime with detailed planning and insider knowledge of the boutique. The swift police response and investigation led to the recovery of stolen items and the apprehension of all parties involved. Authorities emphasize the importance of vigilance and security measures in such high-value retail establishments.
