Bengaluru Tech Professional Allegedly Murders Wife, Attempts Suicide

A 36-year-old tech worker in Bengaluru allegedly killed his wife, dismembered her body, and concealed it in a suitcase. Following the crime, he attempted suicide in Pune after confessing to her parents. The police are investigating the incident, which reportedly stems from marital discord.

In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 36-year-old technology professional, Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, is accused of murdering his 32-year-old wife, Gauri Anil Sambekar, and subsequently dismembering her body before concealing it in a suitcase. The tragic event occurred in the Doddakannahalli locality, where the couple had been residing for the past year after relocating from Maharashtra.

Authorities discovered Gauri’s remains when the house owner reported finding a suitcase containing her body. Initial forensic analysis revealed that she had suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck and abdomen. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Sarah Fathima noted that the couple moved to Bengaluru about a year ago and that Rakesh was working from home at a private firm while Gauri had obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media.

Following the crime, it was reported that Rakesh contacted Gauri’s parents, confessing to the murder over the phone. Alarmed by this revelation, her parents reached out to the Maharashtra police, who subsequently alerted authorities in Karnataka. Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, B. Dayanand, indicated that marital discord appeared to be a significant factor in the incident.

After fleeing Bengaluru, Rakesh was located in Pune through a meticulous operation involving call records and digital surveillance. Upon discovery, he was found unconscious and had reportedly consumed poison in an attempt to take his own life. Rakesh is currently hospitalized in Pune, and a police team from Bengaluru is set to escort him back once his health stabilizes.

This tragic incident underscores the severe consequences of marital discord and highlights the importance of mental health support. The authorities are taking necessary steps to ensure the suspect faces justice while emphasizing the need for psychological assistance for individuals in distress.
