The divergent interpretations of the ceasefire among the parties are evident; while the White House includes “energy and infrastructure” in its terminology, the Kremlin limits its definition to solely “energy infrastructure.” Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his desire for the inclusion of the protection of railways and ports within the ceasefire agreements.

In contrast, Russia’s Ministry of Defence claimed it had shot down 47 Ukrainian drones, asserting a readiness for a “symmetrical response” amid mutual accusations regarding an explosion near a Russian gas pumping station at the border where Ukrainian forces had been withdrawing. The Ministry warned that provocations would hinder negotiations, indicating that if Ukraine continues its current actions, Russia reserves the right to retaliate accordingly.
