On March 4, Rajput was reportedly drugged and violently stabbed to death by Muskan and Sahil. Afterward, his dismembered body was sealed within a drum filled with cement and dust. The couple is believed to have misled Rajput’s family by sending messages from his phone, while they vacationed in Himachal Pradesh. Police reports on March 18 led to Muskan and Sahil’s arrest.
The medical professionals who conducted the post-mortem revealed Saurabh was stabbed thrice in the heart with considerable force. According to a doctor involved, “The blows from the sharp long knife pierced deep inside the heart.” Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed the severity of the crime, stating, “Muskaan brutally stabbed Saurabh in his heart, puncturing it. His neck was severed and both palms were cut off. The body was cut up into four pieces to fit it in the drum.”
Additionally, the medical team recounted the lengths taken to conceal the body. They explained that the body was cemented inside the drum, which prevented decay due to lack of oxygen. Consequently, when the drum was finally opened, the cement had to be meticulously removed to extract the remains. Saurabh and Muskan married in 2016 against his family’s wishes, and the couple had a six-year-old daughter. Police noted that Muskan had long known Sahil, having reconnected in a WhatsApp group in 2019, while family members expressed concerns regarding her behavior and alleged drug use.
