The Chief Proctor at Seth Phool Chand Bagla PG College had eluded capture for 72 hours after the revelations surfaced, accompanied by disturbing footage shared with law enforcement on a USB drive. Kumar stated to authorities that he was unaware of the total number of women he had assaulted and noted he only began recording his assaults a few years earlier, suggesting a prolonged period of abuse.
Further investigation revealed that Kumar had solicited bribes from students and parents for grade alterations and job placements, leveraging these positions for sexual favors. Kumar suggested that a prior incident in 2009, when he recorded a sexual encounter with a student, inspired his disturbing behavior.
According to Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, the Superintendent of Police in Hathras, Kumar subsequently installed software to facilitate the recording of his criminal acts. Kumar’s history reveals he was previously married in 1996, although the status of that union remains uncertain, and they had no children together.
Joining Bagla College in 2001, Kumar ascended to Chief Proctor last year. His campaign of sexual predation reportedly commenced in 2008, with over 65 videos recovered from his phone, some of which have been linked to pornographic sites.
